About Us

Wayne State University has 33,240 students enrolled in its 350 degree and certificate programs; one-third of these students are graduate students. The Graduate School and the Graduate Council recognize the importance of these students to the educational and research mission of WSU. To this end, the Graduate School is directing new resources toward fostering centralized networks of communication and developing new ways to build a stronger graduate student community.

The launching of the Graduate School newsletter highlights our efforts to provide a centralized place where information and communication are available.  Currently, the Graduate Newsletter provides contact information, resources for financial and emotional support along with comprehensive articles addressing the issues and concerns of graduate students. The newsletter is only the beginning. This fall, the Graduate School has launched a Graduate Writing Resources webpage. It offers students quick access to important online writing resources, including style guides and writing manuals, reference works on disciplinary writing and citation, and provides additional resources and information to help graduate students through the writing process.

Also, we are continuing in our efforts to create bridges of communication where graduate students can discuss pertinent issues and network among themselves, exchanging an array of information on events, conferences, brown bags, grants and fellowships and much, much more.
